Loneliness and Isolation

Loneliness is a feeling that most people will experience at some point in their lives. Prolonged and extreme exposure to loneliness can seriously impact an individual’s well-being and their ability to function in society.

Loneliness has been shown to be associated with poor physical and mental health and poor personal wellbeing, with findings showing loneliness can be as strongly linked to poor health as obesity or smoking.

There is evidence to show that loneliness affects the lives of Dudley residents more than many other parts of the country.  We have developed a page on Loneliness and Isolation to further explore this and pull together resources on the topic.
